June Finances Update Part Two

As you know, my husband and I are keeping tabs on our expenses for the month of June. We don’t typically do this, but I was really curious to see how much we actually spend on an average month. Click here to see last week’s June finances update. It is my belief that if you know how much you spend, you will spend less. If you keep track of how much you’re spending, you will be more conscious of what you buy and how much you buy. You’ll think twice about buying things you don’t really need. By now, June 15th, we have spent $684.96 on food, gas, entertainment, and store purchases (including gifts). My original estimate of how much we spend per month on average is $2355 (that includes rent and all bills). Last week, I said we have about $850 more to spend for this month to hit that mark. Since then, we have spent $293. So we have about $557 left for this month to spend on food, gas, store purchases, entertainment, internet, and the electric bill. That’s if we stay on track with my estimate. It looks like overall, we may spend less than I expected, but we will see if any unexpected expenses pop up. Stay with me and come back next week to see how we’re doing on our finances!
